Batavia House Walk Ready for Guests

Batavia, IL: A limited number of tickets are available for the September 15th Batavia House Walk presented by Batavia MainStreet. Tickets are $25 each and may be purchased online (by September 10th) at downtownbatavia.com with Visa or Master Card or at any of the five ticket sale locations: Fabric Boutique, LLC (3 S Batavia Ave), Sue’s Family Hair Co., (139 S Batavia Ave), K. Hollis Jewelers (147 S Randall Rd) and Gibby’s Wine Den in Geneva (1772 S Randall Rd) as well as the MainStreet office (13 E Wilson St temporary location). A $5 off ticket coupon is available at any of the five locations and may be used through September 7th (one coupon allowed per ticket purchased). Organizer Sharon Harwick of the Fabric Boutique invites everyone to attend, “Whether you like Frank Lloyd Wright, contemporary, Victorian, town home living or tear down/rebuilds or historic churches, our house walk has something for everyone.”

Day of event tickets (if available) may be purchased at the United Methodist Church. A drive through ticket purchase and program distribution station will be set up on N. Water Street in coned off parking spaces. House Walk patrons are encouraged to have their tickets or money ready and drive through to get their ticket/program. All event participants should register at the Methodist Church location before beginning the walk. Pre-purchased paper tickets will be exchanged for the official event program, which allows entry into each home. The registration area will open at 9:30 a.m. and be outside until Noon (weather permitting), then move inside the Methodist Church fellowship hall where the tea will be held.

Chef Jason Stoffels of Enticing Cuisine is making available box lunches for the event. The lunches cost $7.75 and must be pre-ordered by calling 761-0399 or emailing enticingcuisine@sbcglobal.net by Wednesday September 12th. Pre-ordered box lunches may be picked up between 11 am and 2 pm at the Methodist Church fellowship hall area where the tea will be held. A map of downtown Batavia restaurants will be given at registration.

Volunteers are still needed to make the Batavia House Walk a success. House docents and volunteers are needed as well as servers for the tea at the Methodist Church from 10 am – 4 pm on Saturday September 15th. Volunteers are asked to work a two hour shift and are also eligible for $10 off the ticket price for the event.
