Batavia MainStreet Announces New Board and Officers

Batavia, IL: Batavia MainStreet held its Annual Meeting on Thursday May 17th and announced the election of three new board members and two re-elected. New board members include: Ashley Dempsey (Batavia Enterprises) and John Tilmon (MSC Services Corp) to three-year terms and Michaelynn Rose (Rose Photo Studio) to one-year term. Returning board members elected to another three year term include: Lisa Clark (Batavia City Council) and Vicki Mitchell (Batavia Resident).

The first meeting of the new board took place on Friday June 1 and began by electing officers. The 2007-08 MainStreet Board President is David Anderson (Anderson Advertising Design), Vice President is Sharon Harwick (Fabric Boutique, LLC), Treasurer is Vicki Mitchell (Batavia Resident), and Secretary is Lisa Clark (Batavia City Council). Returning board members include: Mike Kluber (Kluber Skahan & Associates), Jeff Matter (Music Matters), Jeff Swim (Blackline Consulting), Jennifer Warta (Batavia Resident). Ex-Officio members include: Randy Recklaus (City of Batavia) and Immediate Past President Sharon Mitchell (Harris NA).

The Batavia MainStreet Program is one of 64 not-for-profit, community based organizations in the state of Illinois. The mission of Batavia MainStreet is to enhance the identity of Batavia’s downtown area as the heart of our community. MainStreet members work through the four points: Design, Economic Restructuring, Organization and Promotion to improve the downtown district.
