Event chair, Vicki Mitchell encourages ladies to participate in the event, “Girls Day Out is the perfect half day for women to gather a group of girl friends together to enjoy a variety of food, fun and pampering while supporting our downtown businesses during bridge construction.” The event begins with registration at 11:30 am at Panera Bread in downtown Batavia, followed by a smorgasbord of optional activities at participating downtown businesses. Three events are new to Girls’ Day Out this year. A belly dancing demo and lesson by Sara Casper is at 1:00 p.m. and at 3:00 p.m. and an interactive 30-minute presentation “Taming the Paper Monster” by Jeanne Harms of Organize Inc are both featured events. The third and final event of the day is a tea presented by Four Beans Coffee Shop and style show at First Street Playhouse, highlighting spring fashions from area shops. Style show coordinator Sharon Harwick of Fabric Boutique comments: “Get ready for a fun spring style show that showcases an eclectic group of businesses whose collections range from the formal to practical and just plain fun.” The fashion show and tea, presentations and featured business activities and tea are included in the ticket price.
