Batavia MainStreet Girls Day Out Benefits Living
Well Cancer Resource Center Batavia, IL: Batavia MainStreet is proud to introduce The Living Well Cancer Resource Center as a partner in their 2nd annual Girls’ Day Out. Living Well receives a portion of each ticket sold to the event. Tickets are now on sale for the downtown Batavia “Girls Day Out” to be held on Saturday April 14th from 11:30 am – 5 pm. Presale tickets (if still available) may be purchased at the following Batavia locations for $30 each: Bee-Attitudes Antiques (9 S. Batavia Ave.), Spa Constantine (9 E. Wilson St.), Sue’s Family Hair Co. (139 S. Batavia Ave.), Fabric Boutique (3 S. Batavia Ave) and The Living Well Cancer Resource Center in Geneva (1803 W State St). Tickets include free pampering experiences, presentations, a tea and style show plus $5 in Batavia Bucks to spend during the day on lunch or to make purchases along the way. Event chair, Vicki Mitchell encourages ladies to participate in the event, “Girls Day Out is the perfect half day for women to gather a group of girl friends together to enjoy a variety of food, fun and pampering while supporting our downtown businesses during bridge construction.” The event begins with registration at 11:30 am at Panera Bread in downtown Batavia, followed by a smorgasbord of optional activities at participating downtown businesses. Three events are new to Girls’ Day Out this year. A belly dancing demo and lesson by Sara Casper is at 1:00 p.m. and at 3:00 p.m. and an interactive 30-minute presentation “Taming the Paper Monster” by Jeanne Harms of Organize Inc are both featured events. The third and final event of the day is a tea presented by Four Beans Coffee Shop and style show at First Street Playhouse, highlighting spring fashions from area shops. Style show coordinator Sharon Harwick of Fabric Boutique comments: “Get ready for a fun spring style show that showcases an eclectic group of businesses whose collections range from the formal to practical and just plain fun.” The fashion show and tea, presentations and featured business activities and tea are included in the ticket price. Groups are encouraged to purchase tickets early to avoid disappointment as the event is limited to 150 women. Same day tickets will be sold at Panera Bread if still available, but ladies who have not purchased a presale ticket may be turned away if the maximum number of 150 participants has been reached.
