MainStreet Presents Art in Your Eye Arts Walk August 4 07-21-2006 Batavia, IL: Downtown Batavia is alive with the arts on Friday August 4th when twelve businesses host twenty artists from 5:00 PM – 8:30 PM. Artists are on hand to explain their work while businesses provide refreshments and activities. A map of the walk may be found at www.artinyoureye.com or at any of the twelve participating businesses. Batavia MainStreet invites the community to this free art open house hosted by the following businesses: Anderson Advertising & Design, 215 E. Wilson Avon Training Center, 241 W. Wilson St. Batavia Depot Museum, 155 Houston Street EMMTek, 4 W. Wilson Fabric Boutique - 10 E. Wilson Street First Street Playhouse, 150 S. Water Gammon Corners - Bee-Attitudes Harris Bank, 155. W. Wilson Ispirare School of Music & Expressive Arts Lane Allen Architects, 8 W. Wilson Music Matters School of Percussion Two East Gallery, 2 E. Wilson In Addition: A special feature of the Arts Walk is live entertainment and a sculpture silent auction. Bid on 2005 commissioned “Wire You Doing That?” art sculptures at the silent auction from 5 – 10 p.m. at the Riverwalk South Plaza (inside City Council Chambers if rain). Stop by anytime during the Arts Walk to bid and enjoy lively music by “Field Gear” from 8:30-10 PM. Photos of the sculptures are posted on the Art in Your Eye website. Whether you need a sculpture for your home or businesses or would like to be a patron of the arts and donate the piece back to the community, these one of a kind art sculptures are ready to decorate your space. Batavia Riverwalk South Plaza is located on the NE corner of Houston St. and Island Ave. by the bike-pedestrian bridge on the west side of the Fox River.
