Batavia, IL: Are you looking for something fun to do during the holiday break? Downtown Batavia plays host to a new holiday event on Saturday December 30th from 10 am – 2 pm. Join the Batavia Depot Museum and Batavia MainStreet for a Yule Log Scavenger Hunt. The Yule Log is an ancient symbol of the Holiday season and families of three or more are encouraged to sign up for the event, which incorporates stops at several businesses and city locations.

The Yule Log Scavenger Hunt kicks off at the Batavia Depot Museum with teams given a series of clues that ultimately lead their finding the hidden Yule Log. Clues may be historical, poetry or involve actions to be performed by the team in order to secure the next clue en route to finding the Yule Log. The hunt ends with an activity, refreshments and the traditional burning of the Yule Log.

Pre-registration is required for this event by the December 22nd deadline. Fee is per team ($5 for Batavia resident, $6 for Batavia non-resident and $7 for non-resident). Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Registration is through the Batavia Park District at 879-5235 or online at bataviaparks.org.
