MainStreet Downtown@Daybreak Features City's Façade Grant Program on January 20th

Batavia, IL: Batavia MainStreet is pleased to invite the Batavia community to its upcoming morning networking coffee at 7:30 a.m. on Friday January 20th at the Fox Grill, 35 N. Water St. in downtown Batavia. The topic is “Façade Program: Before and After Tips for Your City Application” presented by Mary Ann Monzani from the City of Batavia and Grant Markuson, 2005 grant recipient. Mary Ann Monzani from the City’s Community Development office will cover basic information about the 2006 application and deadlines while Grant Markuson, property owner of 15 E. Wilson St. will walk through his application and a template he developed to assist other businesses with their applications. Copies of the template will be available at no cost for Daybreak participants.

All Batavia residents, business and property owners and employees of downtown businesses are welcome to participate, especially those considering façade improvements to their buildings in 2006. There is no RSVP or fee to attend; coffee, juice and rolls are available for $2.00 per person.

The Batavia MainStreet Program is one of 63 not-for-profit, community based organizations in the state of Illinois. The mission of Batavia MainStreet is to enhance the identity of Batavia’s downtown area as the heart of our community. MainStreet members work through the four points: Design, Economic Restructuring, Organization and Promotion to improve the downtown district. MainStreet volunteers believe the revitalization of Downtown Batavia is essential to our community’s sense of pride, place, and heritage for this and future generations.
