MainStreet Invites Businesses to Participate in
2006 Downtown Banner Program and Menu of Opportunities Batavia, IL: Batavia MainStreet invites local businesses to participate in two exciting programs in the New Year: the downtown quarterly banner program and the Menu of Opportunities. Businesses on the MainStreet database have been mailed these two brochures; they are available by request at (630) 761-3528 or online at www.downtownbatavia.com for any business that would like to get involved. The 2006-07 MainStreet downtown quarterly banner program kicked off in November with winter gateway BHS basketball jersey banners designed by local artist, Steve Willing of Willing Graphics. The spring banner art goes up in February and includes an egret welcome banner designed by Willing and "Park-it Downtown" banner designed by Anderson Advertising Design. Summer artwork graces the poles starting in May and features Hall Quarry Beach and the Batavia Farmers' Market, both banners designed by Willing as well as the fall banner in August featuring the Batavia Bulldog mascot. Britta McKenna, MainStreet Executive Director comments, "Banner sponsorships will go quickly so businesses are encouraged to reserve their banners now to avoid disappointment." Spring banner deadline is 1/15/06. The 2006 Menu of Opportunities features MainStreet events and programs scheduled for next year that invite partnerships, sponsorships and participation with businesses. A preview of events for 2006 includes: A Night at the Oscars (March 5th), Girls' Day Out (April 8th), Batavia Farmers ' Market (July - Oct), Boo Boo Days Sidewalk Sale (July 7-8), Shakespeare in the Park (July 15, 22, 29 and Aug. 5), Batavia Poker Pub Crawl (Oct. 7), BatFest (Oct. 27-28), Living Windows, Open Doors (Dec. 9), and Yule Log Family Scavenger Hunt (Dec. 30) and well as other opportunities for goody bag participation, Art in Your Eye special T-shirt purchases, quarterly calendars and other unique promotions.
