Batavia MainStreet Announces Board Vacancy

Batavia, IL: The Batavia MainStreet Board of Directors announced today that applications are available for Batavia businesses, property owners and citizens interested in serving on the Batavia MainStreet Board of Directors to fill a recent vacancy. Interested candidates are encouraged to meet with a current board member or the Executive Director to learn the responsibilities and expectations of a board member. Interested persons should also visit www.downtownbatavia.com to learn more about the organization.

Applications are available by calling the office at 2 E. Wilson Street (630) 761-3528 or by emailing britta@downtownbatavia.com. The Batavia MainStreet Board of Directors meets monthly the first Friday of the month at 7:30 a.m. and board members are expected to serve on one of the four committees: Design, Economic Restructuring, Organization or Promotion to assist in implementing annual work plans.

The Batavia MainStreet Program is one of 56 not-for-profit, community based organizations in the state of Illinois. The mission of Batavia MainStreet is to enhance the identity of Batavia’s downtown area as the heart of our community. MainStreet members work through the four points: Design, Economic Restructuring, Organization and Promotion to improve the downtown district. MainStreet volunteers believe the revitalization of Downtown Batavia is essential to our community’s sense of pride, place, and heritage for this and future generations.
