Batavia MainStreet Announces New Board and Officers

Batavia, IL: Batavia MainStreet held its first board meeting of the new fiscal year on Friday June 3 and elected officers. The 2005-06 MainStreet Board President is Julane Sullivan (All Dressed Up and First Street Playhouse), Vice President is Sharon Mitchell (Harris Bank), Treasurer is Joy Ganster (Batavia Public Library), and Secretary is Ed Hodges (EMMTek). Returning board members include: Cathy Barnard (Re/Max Excels), Susan Duffy (resident), Craig Foltos (Foltos Tonsorial Parlor), Laura O’Brien (O’Brien’s Pub & Grill), Ex-Officio Randy Recklaus (City of Batavia) and Ex-Officio John Gamble (Miscella Realty). New members elected to the board include David Anderson (Anderson Advertising Design), Jim Schuler (Batavia Park District), Jeffrey Swim (Hyperliant Consulting) and Ed Hodges (EMMTek).

The Batavia MainStreet Program is one of 58 not-for-profit, community based organizations in the state of Illinois. The mission of Batavia MainStreet is to enhance the identity of Batavia’s downtown area as the heart of our community. MainStreet members work through the four points: Design, Economic Restructuring, Organization and Promotion to improve the downtown district. MainStreet volunteers believe the revitalization of Downtown Batavia is essential to our community’s sense of pride, place, and heritage for this and future generations.
