"Traffic, Traffic, Traffic" Featured
at May 20th MainStreet Downtown@Daybreak Batavia, IL: Batavia MainStreet invites the Batavia community to its upcoming morning networking coffee at 7:30 a.m. on Friday May 20th at the Fox Grill. The topic is “Traffic, Traffic, Traffic” presented by Batavia Police Chief Dennis Anderson. The presentation will include comments on current status of traffic in downtown Batavia, the impact of Fabyan Bridge construction and highlights from traffic meetings held earlier in 2005. “Downtown@Daybreak” is held monthly the third Fridays of each month at 7:30 a.m. at the Fox Grill (35 N. Water Street). A different topic is featured each month to inform and benefit downtown businesses, property owners, volunteers and interested citizens. There is no fee to attend the gatherings and no RSVP required. These morning gatherings feature a social and networking time from 7:30 a.m. – 7:55 a.m. with coffee and rolls available for $2.00 per person, followed by Batavia MainStreet announcements at 7:55 a.m., a 20-minute program from 8:00 a.m. – 8:20 a.m. and questions and answers from 8:20 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. June’s “Downtown@Daybreak” gathering will be held on Friday June 17th at 7:30 a.m. at the Fox Grill and the topic will be “Parking, Parking, Parking.” The Batavia MainStreet Program is one of 58 not-for-profit, community based organizations in the state of Illinois. The mission of Batavia MainStreet is to enhance the identity of Batavia’s downtown area as the heart of our community. MainStreet members work through the four points: Design, Economic Restructuring, Organization and Promotion to improve the downtown district. MainStreet volunteers believe the revitalization of Downtown Batavia is essential to our community’s sense of pride, place, and heritage for this and future generations.
