Batavia MainStreet to Hold Annual Meeting May 19th at The Venice Tavern

Batavia, IL: The Batavia MainStreet Board of Directors announces the 2005 Annual Meeting on Thursday May 19th at 5:30 p.m. at The Venice Tavern. The meeting is open to the Batavia Community and MainStreet partners.

MainStreet voting members (Friends level and higher) were mailed official ballots for the 2005 Board of Directors and a by-law change for voting prior to the meeting. Light appetizers will be provided at the meeting; interested parties should RSVP to Sharon Mitchell at 406-5686 or Sharon.mitchell1@harrisbank.com by Tuesday May 17, 2005.

The agenda for the meeting includes: presentation and summary of 2004-05 progress; presentation of current financial status, recognition of outgoing board members (Vernon Oie, Valley Community Bank, Sue Heidelberg, Sue’s Family Hair Co., Tiffani Hylton, Riverwest Family Fitness, Mike Spillane, Spillane & Sons, Forrest Nelson, City of Batavia Alderman, Nick Rieser, Resident, and Tim Ozanne, Kelso & Associates); 2005 Election of Batavia MainStreet, Inc. Board of Directors; Vote for Proposed By-Law changes; and Partnership Campaign major gift presentations, followed by a social hour.

The Batavia MainStreet Program is one of 58 not-for-profit, community based organizations in the state of Illinois. The mission of Batavia MainStreet is to enhance the identity of Batavia’s downtown area as the heart of our community. MainStreet members work through the four points: Design, Economic Restructuring, Organization and Promotion to improve the downtown district.
