Batavia MainStreet Invites Farmers' Market Applicants

Batavia, IL: Batavia MainStreet invites area growers and producers to apply for a space at the 2005 Batavia Farmers’ Market. The market kicks off June 18th and runs Saturdays from 8 am – Noon until October 8th on S. Water Street between Wilson Street and First Street in downtown Batavia. Applications may be requested by calling (630) 761-3528 or by emailing Market Manager Mike Hoffman at mph1973@sbcglobal.net. The deadline for returning market participants to renew their space is May 15th. The cost of an annual space is $175 for one space and $250 for a double space. Weekly market participants may also participate at a cost of $15 for a single space or $25 for a double space if space is available.

New this year at the market will be the addition of themed weeks on the south end of S. Water Street. The traditional Farmers’ Market will remain in the same location with the addition of an “Artists Alley” and “Crafters Court” at the south end of the market to increase pedestrian traffic and sales at the market. Also featured is the “Community Corridor” on July 9th, “Batavia Restaurant Row” on August 6th, a “Kids Day” on September 3rd and a “Business Boulevard” on October 1st. The cost for a south market space is $15 for a single parking space. Pre-registration at least one week prior to market participation is highly suggested due to limited space.
