Batavia MainStreet Launches"Downtown@Daybreak" Series

Batavia, IL: Batavia MainStreet announces the first of a monthly series of downtown networking and discussions related to downtown Batavia. “Downtown@Daybreak” will be held monthly the third Fridays of each month at 7:30 a.m. at the Fox Grill (35 N. Water Street). A different topic will be featured each month to inform and benefit downtown businesses, property owners, volunteers and interested citizens. There is no fee to attend the gatherings and no RSVP required. This new series will feature a social and networking time from 7:30 a.m. – 7:55 a.m. with coffee and rolls available for purchase, followed by Batavia Main Street announcements at 7:55 a.m., a 20-minute program from 8:00 a.m. – 8:20 a.m. and questions and answers from 8:20 a.m. – 8:30 a.m.

The first “Downtown@Daybreak” is Friday November 19th at 7:30 a.m. at the Fox Grill and features “Wilson Street Bridge Project” as the topic. City of Batavia representatives will make a 20-minute presentation about the 2006 Wilson Street bridge replacement project and entertain questions from the audience at the conclusion of their presentation. Members of the downtown business community and interested citizens are encouraged to attend. December’s “Downtown@Daybreak” gathering will be held on Friday December 17th at 7:30 a.m. at the Fox Grill and the topic will be Batavia’s Façade Improvement program and the upcoming “Backdoor Façade Improvement Program.”

The Main Street Program is a not-for-profit community based organization. The mission of Batavia MainStreet is to enhance the identity of our downtown area as the heart of our community. Main Street members become involved in various projects which help rejuvenate the downtown district. Our volunteers believe the revitalization of Downtown Batavia is essential to our community’s sense of pride, place, and heritage for this and future generations.
