Batavia Annual Block Party to Showcase Local Talent, Drink Specials, and Family Fun
Bands, dancers, kids' stuff, and a bags tournament will keep 2011's Labor Day Weekend exciting
Batavia MainStreet is planning this year's Annual Block Party with family and fun in mind. An agreement with the City of Batavia has made it possible to enjoy the local establishments' food tastings and drink specials (even alcoholic) outside on the Block Party premises with the purchase of a wristband and designated cup, the pair costing only $5 at the MainStreet tent (must be 21+ with valid ID).
Kids can enjoy face painting, bubbles and all the street-decorating they can imagine with sidewalk chalk! Adults can be part of a Bags Tournament** by registering and competing that day for a cash prize. For another chance at a cash prize, there will be a 50/50 raffle as well.
Local restaurants will be offering drink specials and $2 tastings for the Taste of Batavia aspect of the Block Party. Maps and menus will be provided to each Block Party patron so they can discover all of the treats at their leisure. Bulldogs Red Hots, Andres Restaurant, and Lodge on the Fox will be present at the Block Party to serve up your ideal summer-night food items.
One Brick Short will perform fun & creative versions of the Top 40 songs we all know & love. Batavia Academy of Dance will be performing a visually and audibly stunning number on stage. Field Day, Batavia's own rock cover band, will play out the night with classic favorites and fun summer standards. Their memorable set at Batavia's 4th of July Sky Concert this year makes them an act to look forward to again.
