Join us at Batavia’s 4th Annual Green Walk!  MainStreet is partnering with the Batavia Community Garden, Batavia Environmental Commission and other green partners to present a Green Walk, also including a peak at the unleashing of “Bulldogs Unleashed” on Friday, June 10.

The Green Walk will feature local food, wine and beer, an expert chicken keeper and her hens, a seed share, information on good river care and more. Enjoy the Community Garden demonstrations, figure sculpting with Batavia Clay straight from the river, education on composting, or green children’s activities from 5:00 – 8:00 pm. The unleashing of Bulldogs Unleashed at 7:00pm. At the Green Walk find local organizations and people, up and down the Wilson St. William J. Donovan Bridge, who will raise our community awareness of the art of going green!

"After four years, we feel like we are starting to really get this event to where we want it." said Jim Kirkhoff, one of the event organizers. "It was originally an adjunct to the original Arts Walks.  It has changed and grown significantly since then. The best part is that the local businesses are becoming more involved."

“Originally, the Green Walk was not on the MainStreet plan for this year,” explained Joi Cuartero, Executive Director of Batavia MainStreet, “but there was a very passionate group that wanted to put it together. The Green Walk committee has taken great strides to improve the walk this year.”

An event map can be found at www.downtownbatavia.com with printed copies available at participating businesses. Join us for an evening of Green fun.
