ART IN YOUR EYE ACTIVITIES KICK OFF WITH JULY 17TH ARTS WALK IN DOWNTOWN BATAVIA

 

Batavia, IL:  Downtown Batavia readies for the 5th annual Art in Your Eye festival with the July 17th Arts Walk sponsored by Batavia MainStreet. Six businesses host area artists and invite Fox Valley residents to browse through downtown from 5-9 pm on Friday night July 17th. The Arts Walk is the first official Art in Your Eye 2009 event, followed by the School of Art and Art in Your Eye Festival on the Riverwalk August 8-9th.  More information and details about Art in Your Eye 2009 are available at www.artinyoureye.com.  Volunteers are needed to assist at the festival and should contact Ashley Hicks at 630-879-3680 or email ashley@bataviaenterprises.com.

The six downtown Batavia businesses are hosting artists on and near the Wilson Street bridge area.  A map of the event is available online at www.downtownbatavia.com or at the event at any of the participating locations.  The event will be held rain or shine. The following locations and artists they are hosting include:

1- Water Street Studios, 160 W Wilson St.

2- Batavia Creamery, 4 N Island Ave, T.J. Hicks, Woodworking – Tom King, Photography 

3- The Gallery at Allen+Pepa Architects, 8 W Wilson St., Art in Your Eye 2009 Poster Artist, Joe Gagnapaign

4- 4 ½ W  Wilson Street, Batavia MainStreet hosts an Open House at their new office location with a live A+DJ playing riverside, the unveiling of their new entry mural by Joe Gagnapaign and a display of their banner art.

5- 2 E Wilson Street, Nancy Hannah, Painting – Monica Stanton

6- Limestone Coffee & Tea, 15 E Wilson St., Local artwork and arts walk specials, Dennis Walz, Photography
