Cast for Shakespeare on Clark Announced
Anticipation for the annual summer Shakespeare on Clark production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream will intensify with the announcement of the talented cast selected to perform on the Island to midsummer revelers.
Elburn resident Lynn Meredith has landed the lead role of Titania, Queen of the Forest. Lynn has performed professionally in Children’s theatre productions at Candlelight Dinner Theatre and with AlphaBet Soup, and has done several commercials and voiceovers. Also from Elburn heralds Kevin Krasinski as Lysander and Nikki Prusinski as Flute.
Lindsay Stock, of St. Charles will portray the sweet young Hermia. Lyndsay is a Senior at St. Norberts College where she is played Cinderella in Into the Woods, as well as lead roles in Frankestein, The shape of Things and Metamorphoses. Shane Dwyer, also from St. Charles is featured as the elvin Mustardseed and brings his instrumental talent to work playing the flute.
Caitlin Murphy of Sugar Grove, and a senior at the University of Notre Dame is featured as Puck. A graduate of Bennet Academy in Lisle, she has had lead roles in You Can’t Take it With You and The Vagina Monologues. Also from Maple Park is Ryan Stasell as Diemetrius, Bryan Renaud as the outrageous Bottom/Quince, and Kasey Ostarello as Starveling.
Batavia boasts a large group of homespun talent to entertain this summer. Michael Stanek, sharing the roles of Quince and Bottom, has performed in many production in Batavia, has done workshops at Second City, been cast in several films, and does public speaking. Also from Batavia are Mike Smith as Theseus, Jackie Scheer as Hippolyta, Ryne Dwyer as Oberon, King of the Fairries, Chelsea Sullivan as Helena, and Laura Dwyer as the fairrie Peasblossom.
Rounding out the cast is Ben Tennant of Maple Park as Snout.
The production staff includes director Julane Sullivan (founder of Shakespeare on Clark) of Batavia, scenic design by Keith Krokosz of Naperville, costume design by Laura Dwyer (Batavia) and All Dressed Up Costumes, and technical assistance Ashley France of Roselle.
A Midsummer Night’s Dream, the 2009 Shakespeare on Clark offering is sponsored by All Dressed Up Costumes in partnership with Batavia MainStreet. Performances will take place Friday and Saturday nights at 7pm and Sunday evenings at 6pm July 24 through August 2. Everyone is encouraged to come early, bring blankets, lawn chairs, and a picnic dinner to enjoy throughout the show. The show is presented without intermission, is family friendly and will run approximately 90 minutes. “The show is very funny, very physical and will be amazingly entertaining,” states director Julane Sullivan. “We intend to make everyone laugh, and leave feeling fantastic.”
